My friend, Cindy, passed away this morning while on a Caribbean cruise with her sister, Cathy. The cruise was a gift from Cathy to thank Cindy for hosting Cathy's wedding and reception last October. It was a much anticipated thank-you trip between these two very close sisters. Cindy, 49, has battled metastatic breast cancer for five years but was able to travel. Spunkiest, little fighter you've ever seen! She picked up some "bug" on the ship, got very ill with her compromised immune system, and died early this morning. Please pray for her distraught sister Cathy, for all the family and friends in complete shock. The boat doesn't dock until tomorrow morning (Sunday, 9 a.m. in Miami). Pray for funeral plans and getting Cindy back to Indianapolis. Oh my. Thank you so much.

Starting this afternoon, our team from Child Evangelism will be sharing the Gospel of Christ with 87 children at Hoosier Road Elementary. Please pray for the 12 members of the team, the staff at the school and the children and their families. The verse being taught for the first few weeks is Ephesians 6:10 :Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might." This club runs for 5 weeks.

As some of you may have heard on the news this past Saturday (2/2/19), a man riding his ATV on Lake Heritage fell through the ice and drown. He was Brett Crowder, 48, a co-worker of my husband, Bryan, for the past 22 years! They were together on a daily basis, so needless to say, we and all the family and friends are devastated about this tragic accident. The funeral is this Thursday. Please pray for the unsaved family members and friends--that this horrible tragedy would open others' eyes to needing comfort from the Lord so they will turn to Him. Thank you so much.

I asked for prayer and he answered mightily. My daughter and I had healing in our relationship and I saw signs of their hearts softening towards God. Praise His name. Thanks for answered prayers.

Update: Early Rain Covenant Church
Last week, Jessica and I were able hear an update from her parents about the persecution of the Chinese church. The persecution by the authorities continues to increase as they are detaining or imprisoning those who try to gather for worship and are even separating families from their children to deter them from gathering as a church. Amidst the heightened persecution, the church continues to find ways to gather in homes and find ways to encourage one another in the Lord. There also stories of how in prison the Chinese believers are witnessing to the guards and inmates that they are in chains for the sake of Christ and people are coming to faith.
Prayer requests:
Please pray for physical safety for the families as the Chinese authorities are using forceful methods of intimidation.
Please pray for opportunities for the church to gather to encourage one another and be strengthened by the Word without interference.
Pray that those in prison would be released. Pray as they wait on the Lord, that the gospel go forth and bear fruit.
Thank you, church!
P.S. Just to be clear, Jessica's parents are American citizens and are now back in the states after being detained for 6+ hours by the Chinese authorities when they tried to enter the country in October. Thanks for praying!

Update: Please continue to pray for Greg and Melanie Dages 9 month old granddaughter, Micah Grace, who is now at Riley Hospital. Her labs come back showing signs of a metabolic issue and kidney problems, but without a clear diagnosis. Pray that the Lord would give the doctors wisdom and the family comfort as they plead before the throne of grace.

Please pray for Greg and Melanie Dages 9 month old granddaughter, Micah Grace, who has been admitted to Peyton Manning Children's hospital with some abnormal blood tests. There is not a lot of information at this point, but please pray that the Lord would give the doctors wisdom as they care for this little one.
